Role Overview
As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with their day-to-day needs, ensuring they live a safe, comfortable, and fulfilling life. Whether you’re providing personal care, helping with daily activities, or offering companionship, your support will make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with personal care, including washing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Support with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring dietary requirements are met.
- Provide emotional and social support to promote mental well-being.
- Assist with medication management as per care plans (training provided).
- Help with mobility and use of equipment, such as hoists or wheelchairs.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report changes in health or behavior.
- Accompany individuals to appointments, outings, or social activities.
- Adhere to health and safety policies and safeguarding procedures.

- Ability to work as part of a team or independently.
- Flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of service users.
- Previous care experience is desirable but not essential – full training will be provided.
- A valid driver’s license is an advantage (if applicable).
Language Requirements
Candidates must have a good level of English. This is important to ensure the ability to:
- Follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
- Write clear and accurate care records, reports, and notes as required by regulatory standards.
- Understand health and safety guidelines and care plans.
- Safeguard the dignity and well-being of service users by maintaining effective communication.

In addition to English, we encourage applicants who speak other languages, such as Bengali, Urdu, Hindi, or any other native languages. Fluency in additional languages is a valuable asset, particularly for supporting clients from multicultural backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications and certifications will be advantageous:

Care Certificate | A nationally recognized qualification covering the 15 standards of care. |
NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care | Levels 2 or 3 qualifications in health and social care practices. |
First Aid Certification | Certification in basic first aid and CPR techniques. |
Manual Handling | Training on safely assisting with mobility and transferring individuals. |
Medication Administration | Certification in safe medication handling and administration. |
Safeguarding Adults and Children | Courses covering safeguarding practices and responsibilities. |
Food Hygiene Certificate | Certification in safe food preparation and handling practices. |
If you currently do not hold any of the above, we provide training opportunities to help you achieve these qualifications.
Essential Requirements:
- Successful candidates must undergo an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (cost may be covered by Golden Key Support).
- Proof of right to work in the UK is required.
- Commitment to completing all necessary training, including safeguarding and health & safety.
- Willingness to adhere to all regulatory and compliance standards as outlined by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
